Young people

Want to act? Or form a band? There's something for you here at Brighton Dome.

Are you aged 14 - 19 and have a passion for acting? Want to work with professional actors and perform in professional venues?  Then Firecracker - Brighton's only professional youth theatre run in partnership with our associate company Hydrocracker - could be right up your street.

If you're in a band, then come along to find out what our SPECTRUM nights have to offer. We regularly programme special nights showcasing younger groups - it could be you on stage next time! And then there's Rockshop, our annual summer school of rock for 14 - 19s, an unrivalled opportunity to meet other young musicians and perform in the Corn Exchange, lead by the legendary Herbie Flowers and his team of professional musicans. Please note Rockshop will be taking a break in 2014 but we look forward to welcoming Herbie Flowers and company back in 2015.

Brighton Dome's flagship outreach project Miss Represented operates as an arts collective working with vulnerable young women who have been involved with the criminal justice system and isolated young women in the community. Recent showings have included a photographic exhibition with more to come in 2016.

If that's not enough, then look out for workshops led by world-class theatre, dance and music practitioners. If it's your first time, dive in, have a go and most importantly have fun. You never know where it might lead...
