Brighton Dome & Festival has embarked on an history and heritage project, exploring explore over 200 years of these iconic buildings.
In 2019 we launched an Oral History project to collect the memories of Brighton Dome staff, performers and audiences. One of our first tasks is to go through our archive and find out about the oral histories we have captured over the years (so that we can identify what histories we need to collect!)
We are looking for a volunteer to help us with this task!
What might you do as an Oral History AuditVolunteer:
Look through existing Brighton Dome & Festival records including notes, documents and recordings, and create a list of all oral history material in our archives.
Help us identify where there are gaps in our archives.
Help us coordinate a list of potential Oral Histories to capture
What will you get out of it?
Meet new people, build confidence and make new friends
Learn administration, computer and presentation skills, or put to good use skills you already have
Contribute to heritage and history material for the newly re-opened Brighton Dome and Corn Exchange and future exhibitions

Shortlisted candidates will be invited to an informal meeting with the Volunteer Coordination Manage. This can take the form of a telephone interview if required (Please let us know if you have any access requirements for this meeting)
