Participatory Interpretation Manager

30 hours per week

£32,000 FTE (£25,946 pro rata)

Fixed Term contract for 4 years

This Heritage Lottery Funded role will contribute to the success of our aim to reconnect and revitalise the historic buildings and gardens; to create a world-class cultural destination for heritage, culture and the performing arts infused with the vibrant spirit of Brighton past, present and future.

This role will be responsible for implementing the Interpretation Strategy for Phase 1 of the project and the development and delivery of new displays and interpretation areas. Using your skills in interpretation and your ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of other professional staff, communities and partners, you will find creative solutions, which will enhance the visitor experience of our sites. Working with current volunteers to understand how visitors engage with the Brighton Dome and Corn Exchange’s heritage you will coordinate a full and lively programme of activities and events.

We are also looking for someone with substantial experience gained within museum/heritage interpretation, experience of developing displays using archive material and experience of using a variety of methods to evaluate the success of activities/events.
