‘It has given me confidence and allowed me to explore positions I may want to pursue later. It has given me a sense of purpose and community and allowed me to attend some great events and meet great people’

‘So far it has only been a joy! After 39 years of pressurised full-time work, it is like bathing in milk and honey. Interesting, diverting and sooooo enjoyable’

‘They gave me a chance, which is a big thing for me’

‘It has brought me joy and positivity and really given me a boost to my mental health and well-being. I feel excited about the next shift and the future possibilities that volunteering at Brighton Dome will bring’

After 6 years of re-development, Brighton Dome Corn Exchange reopened to the public this Summer. From November onwards, we plan to showcase this beautiful building and its history to the public and are recruiting room guide volunteers to ensure that visitors are welcomed and provided with a knowledgeable and friendly experience.

You will be providing short tours and talks about the history of the Corn Exchange; this could incorporate a special interest of your own, such as architecture, women’s suffrage, musical history, and regency history. We will be developing guides and talking point materials as a group so that you have information that you can refer to whilst volunteering.

Recruitment for the Heritage Welcome Volunteer team is now closed. We will be reopening recruitment at the end of January 2024. If you are interested in volunteering with us in 2024 please contact us at heritagevolunteers@brightondome.org and we will add you to a waiting list to be contacted when new opportunities arise.

Many thanks for your interest in volunteering at Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival. We hope to see you soon
