What’s on in Brighton this August Bank Holiday

Rock and Rave at Brighton Dome as we go back in time to the ‘90s for the bank holiday weekend with legendary dance-floor classics and British indie rock.

Fun Loving Memories features live rave anthems performed by the original singers, DJ’s and bands of some of the biggest house and garage tunes of the 1990s. The daytime dance gig on Sun 25 Aug features artists Black Box, Alison Limerick, Betty Boo, Sonique, Rozalla, Baby D andexclusive Brighton Dome, award winning producer Motiv8, renowned for working with Jason Derulo, the Spice Girls, Pulp and the Pet Shop Boys, will take to the decks.

On Mon 26 Aug, celebrating their 25th anniversary, Brit-rock band Skunk Anansie will be performing their greatest hits. The four-piece formed in 1994 and are known for their exhilarating and energetic live gigs led by iconic lead singer Skin.

“Nobody in our manor had seen anything like us before”, said Skin, who co-founded the band with bassist Cass and guitarist Ace. “We were an earthquake.”

“We come alive onstage,” added Cass. “That’s where we bare our teeth.”

The anniversary coincides with the release of 25LIVE@25, a live album of hit songs from their six studio albums, including Weak, Hedonism (Just Because You Feel Good) and Charlie Big Potato.
 

Support comes from Queen Zee, a glam-punk indie band from Liverpool, described as “The Rocky Horror Picture Show on steroids” and one of the most eye-catching and engaging live acts in the UK right now.
