Confirmation

Mon 1 Dec 2014

The critically acclaimed, 2014 Fringe First award-winning show comes to Brighton.'If you pinned me against a wall, I’d probably admit to being a liberal. Of course, pinning me against a wall is exactly what I’d expect from someone like you.'

This is a show about the gulfs we can’t talk across, about the way we choose only to see the evidence that proves we’re right: the phenomenon of confirmation bias.

Written and performed by Chris Thorpe (Unlimited Theatre) and developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin (Director of Catch 22, Brighton Festival 2014), Confirmation is an attempt to have an honourable dialogue with political extremism - to find out why we believe what we believe, and how we can end up so far apart.

'Electrifying...makes the brain both hurt and buzz' ★★★★ The Guardian

With an election looming and new voices appearing in mainstream UK politics, Chris Thorpe and The TEAM Artistic Director Rachel Chavkin examine the phenomenon of confirmation bias through an honourable dialogue, real and imagined, with political extremism. To find out how we believe what we believe, and how we can end up so far apart.
