A Local Boy
When the body of a local teenager is found next to the war memorial in Romford, a community is shocked. A mother thinks of her son. A police officer searches for answers. A lonely girl waits at a bus stop. And two teenagers discover love – in a chat box, that is.
In a world of instant connection, of cyber chats and selfies, how well can we ever really know those around us? A Local Boy is a provocative, gripping, and touchingly funny new play for teenagers about who we are and what we are capable of.
A Local Boy is a new play by emerging writer Dan Murphy about the adrenalised thrills of the online world, and the joy and horror of being a young person in Britain today, developed with young people for young people.
The evening performance on Fri 26 Feb, 7pm, will be followed by a Q&A session.
