SESSION: The Documentary
SESSION: The Documentary is a behind the scenes look at the Still House, Stepppaz, Empire Sounds collaboration that toured the UK for two summers in 2018 and 2019. A smash hit at Brighton Festival 2019, audiences experienced the explosive outdoor gathering at the beach by the i360.
A radical reclamation of young Black identity, SESSION moves between dance party, afrobeats gig and theatre. Led by an extraordinary ensemble of young dancers, it celebrates belonging, youth and the best of Tottenham.
Interspersing backstage footage, interviews with members of the cast and creative team with performance capture from the LIFT 2018 shows at Bernie Grant Arts Centre, the film is a testament to the work and impact of this remarkable show.
