Through stories of her failed relationships, Femi lays bare the desperation so many of us feel when it comes to love, and invites us to both laugh at her mistakes - and accept our own. 

How to Die of a Broken Heart illuminates both the beauties and the dangers of loving someone, but ultimately reminds us that broken things - especially hearts - can be mended.

Femi Martin began her career performing flash fiction on London's spoken word scene before becoming the Dickens Young Writer in Residence 2012. The Achalasia Diaries, a documentary about the development of Femi’s chronic illness, aired on BBC Radio 4 in 2015. Femi went on to host the R4 podcast Seriously in 2016. Femi is currently developing her first full length play, I Am Not There, with support from Soho Theatre, Talawa and The Carne Trust.
