The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra joins Brighton Festival Chorus to mark its 50th anniversary with an extraordinary evening of musical talent and artistry this Easter weekend. The concert includes the world premiere of a new orchestral arrangement of Britten’s Missa Brevis (performed by Brighton Festival Youth Choir), bringing this internationally celebrated piece into a concert hall setting for the first time.

A rare performance of Duruflé’s exquisite Requiem will treat audiences to 20th-century eloquence: the piece takes inspiration from Faure’s popular Requiem, with Duruflé reworking the structure and mood established by his peer. The concert will also showcase the Baroque intricacy of Crucifixus, with the BFC and RPO exploring contrasting settings of the short,emotive settings of the text from Lotti, Cherubini and J.S Bach.
