SPECTRUM: Sam Walker

Mon 3 Aug 2015

Supported by Collectress and Dan Smith

Sam Walker

A solo multi-instrumental, multi-media premiere full of hope, fury and joy.

In the somewhere between now, then and soon Sam Walker falls through dreamscapes, imagined lands and different realities. Stumbling into rolling, sweat-drenched, dancefloor-pumping grooves and rocking singalong tunes along the way.

Soaring melody, new stories and tender twists meet elastic vocal chords, boundless energy, stunning visuals and much multi-instrumentalism in The Sweetness of the Gathering Night.

Sam Walker has been constantly on the road for the past 2 years throughout the world. He has played to over 25,000 people, performing to audiences large and small in theatres, houses, gardens, streets, festivals and all the spaces in between - from Glastonbury to Buenos Aires, Montreal to Melbourne.

This show is the culmination and bringing together of many different experiences, dreams and memories.

Collectress fill their music with stories and pictures, drawing you gently into an eccentric world of experimental chamber music which feels at once familiar and, at the same time, entirely new.

Daniel John Montagu Smith is a 36 year old singer songwriter and co founder/ lead guitarist with UK band The Noisettes who had a No. 2 chart hit in 2009 with the song Don’t Upset The Rhythm (Go Baby Go) and also rinsed the airwaves with their good timey eulogy for old friends come drinking song Never Forget You
