For over a decade, the Prevent Strategy has been a key strand of the UK’s counter-terrorism strategy; now major terrorist attacks have once again turned the spotlight on the effectiveness of the UK’s approach to preventing violent extremism. In a stimulating and lively discussion chaired by Dr Judith Townend from the University of Sussex, a prestigious panel will address the issues raised by Prevent.
Panel includes:
- Paul Bowen QC, Barrister, Brick Court Chambers
- Sgt David Kent, Counter Terrorism Policing South East
- Dr Judith Townend, Lecturer in Media & Information Law, University of Sussex
- Tom Martin, Lecturer in International Relations at Sussex University.
