Brighton Dome is delighted to be hosting a day of special events in celebration of the 102nd International Women’ Day on Saturday 9 March.

The event is taking place in the Brighton Dome Café Bar and is being organised by Brighton Women’s Centre, who run women’s drop in services, personal development courses, specialist counselling and other support services for vulnerable women.

Admission is free and there will be a range of events, including women only cultural events and discussions between 10 – 12 noon followed by a programme music, drama, workshops, discussions, dance and exhibitions open to everyone from noon until 4pm.

“I am delighted that the Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival is supporting International Women’s Day with a special day of cultural events this weekend. International Women’s Day gives us the opportunity to celebrate women’s achievements at the same time as highlighting how much remains to be done” - Polly Toynbee, Chair, Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival

Rachel Beck, of Brighton Women’s Centre, said, “We at Brighton Women's Centre are delighted to have the chance to celebrate International Women's Day at the Dome. International Women’s Day is a great opportunity for showing off women's achievements - as well as our resourcefulness and creativity - but it's also an important time to highlight the injustices and inequalities that still need to be put right to make the world a better place for everyone.”

There will also be a sign language interpreter at the event throughout the day and a free crèche available for those with children.
