The British Science Festival brings an afternoon of free activities to Brighton Dome

An afternoon of free activities will take place at Brighton Dome on Sat 9 Sep, 12-4pm, as part of the British Science Festival, co-hosted by the University of Brighton and the University of Sussex.

From body to being - Take part in interactive virtual and augmented reality demos that alter your bodily experience to shift how you perceive reality and discover how your experience of the world is shaped by your body. Age 16+

Wild Life Drawing: owls - An art class with a difference, where real animals replace the usual human life models. We will sketch a variety of owl species from life whilst learning from an expert falconer about their anatomy, habitat and hunting techniques. Guided by workshop leader Jennie Webber, you’ll go away not only with some great drawings but a profound understanding and appreciation for these beautiful birds of prey. All abilities welcome and materials provided.

There will be two 90-minute workshops at 1.30pm and 3.30pm, for ages 16+

Wild Life Drawing was founded in 2014 by Jennie Webber, a London-based artist and animal lover. She works only with the finest animal sanctuaries, charities and small selection of trusted animal handlers to put on these events. All the animals that attend the sessions are happy around humans and comfortable in different environments and are always accompanied by expert handlers – their welfare is our highest priority.
