Seat dedications - celebrating our performance history

News

As part of the major refurbishment of the Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre we will be installing brand new seating, including fixed balcony levels in both venues. The work will not only increase the number of seats (up to 500 in the Corn Exchange and 200 in Studio Theatre), it will improve the sound-proofing, introduce state-of-the-art facilities to improve acoustics and temperature control and provide new wheelchair users’ positions in the Studio Theatre.

To celebrate our rich heritage of performance we are dedicating a selection of these new seats after several well-loved artists who have played here over the years - the likes of David Bowie and Ella Fitzgerald – so you may end up sitting in a seat named after your favourite artist!

If you would like to put your own name – or that of a loved one - on a seat alongside one of the greats you will be supporting the transformation of these two magnificent buildings so we can welcome new generations of artists for many years to come.
