3 Nov 2019

Spreading cheer with an unmissable line-up of Christmas shows and events, ‘tis certainly the season to be jolly as Brighton Dome brings circus, dance, film, storytelling, music and more to get everyone into the festive spirit.

The Christmas programme is packed with familiar seasonal characters, including a double bill of childhood favourites The Snowman and Paddington animated on screen with live musical performances. Follow the yellow brick road and head to the Emerald City with Dorothy, the Scarecrow, Tinman, Lion and Toto in a dance adaptation of The Wizard of Oz by Ballet Theatre UK. Romcom fans will be in for a treat with Love Actually shown on the big screen accompanied by a live score of the film’s iconic soundtrack.

Brighton Dome’s big Christmas extravaganza brings jaw-dropping circus fun with Super Sunday, a spectacular live show from Finland’s award winning Race Horse Company. Featuring an amusement park of human catapults, chaotic comedy and trampoline stunts, audiences will be on the edge of their seats throughout the performance.

Classical carols will fill the Concert Hall with the Brighton Festival Chorus Christmas Concert performed by the magnificent Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and singalong to uplifting Christmas tunes while supporting local charity The Choir With No Name, who work with homeless and marginalised people in the city. Twas The Nightshift Before Christmas is a new comedy show by former doctor and author of bestseller This is Going to Hurt, revealing the hilarious and sometimes heartbreaking stories from his time working in the health service. Ending the year in style on New Year’s Eve, Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra perform an afternoon concert of their stunning Viennese Gala with soprano Ailish Tynan.

Get away from the hustle and bustle of Christmas shopping with family-friendly activities to keep little ones happy. Snuggle up with heart-warming stories told by Old Mother Holle in Tales Around The Tree; step back in time at a Victorian themed Christmas Open Day with carol singing, decoration making and a festive photo-booth.
