Help shape the future of Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival by joining our Board

Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival (BDBF) is in the process of recruiting a new Chair and now invites applications for a number of new trustees as several retire, to help take the organisation into a new phase in its history.
By the end of 2019, our Chair, Polly Toynbee and the Board will have overseen the successful completion of the £22m capital project to restore and redesign Brighton Dome’s Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre. The next phase includes implementing the new business model to create future investment in BDBF’s mission.
As custodians of the Grade I and Grade II listed Brighton Dome, which is part of the city’s iconic Royal Pavilion Estate, we present a rich and varied multi-art form programme throughout the year, as well as community and participatory events, a thriving music and arts education service for children and young people and the annual Brighton Festival.

BDBF wish to recruit, where possible, a balance of genders across the Board who can bring insights into the lived experience of people from black and Asian backgrounds; younger people; people who live with disability; LGBT people; those with an expressed faith; and direct experience of what it is like to come from a socially deprived background.
Individuals with specific skills sets would be particularly beneficial: commercial or revenue generation expertise in the arts or events sector; legal expertise; finance; and change management.
The role of a trustee is voluntary and individuals will be required to actively participate in quarterly board meetings; contribute to committees where appropriate; take part in discussions and decision making and attend BDBF events and venues.
