Infinity Foods is celebrating its Golden Jubilee this year!
Having been in business for 50 years we felt it was time for a big celebration. Founded in 1971 as a small whole food shop in the heart of Brighton, Infinity Foods is now a large workers co-op specialising in organic & natural whole foods. The business comprises of a large shop in the centre of the North Laine on North Road with an in-house organic Bakery and a large wholesale branch based in Shoreham-by-Sea.
As we are a workers cooperative we adhere to the 7 cooperative principles; the 7th principal being “concern for community”. Cooperatives work for the sustainable development of their communities through policies approved by their members. Therefore sponsoring the Brighton Festival seemed a great way to celebrate our important year and help the community to celebrate with us. The theme of the festival this year is “Care” in the broadest sense. Infinity foods cares about not only the community but also: fair wages, its workers, good natural & organic foods and the environment. Some of these are part of our key values as a business so particularly the theme is very poignant to us and supporting the Children’s parade on caring for the Water, Air and Earth resonates strongly with us and is a wonderful way to start the festival. We hope this will be a time for people to enjoy the arts and culture and community we have in Brighton, as the past year has seen tremendous strain and hardships for everyone in different ways.
