SPECTRUM: Digital Festival Special

Mon 15 Aug 2016

Brighton Dome’s SPECTRUM project, in partnership with Resident Records, brings you the freshest music talent from across our city. In September, we add a stunning layer of visuals to electronic beats to link in with Brighton Digital Festival.

Inwards is the musical project of kristian shelley, a british born multi instrumentalist and music programmer. Working with a modular synthesiser, a glut of patching cables and his voice, he evokes a nostalgic yet colourful sonic field through manipulation of sequences and synthesis techniques. His performance moves in unpredictable ways as the musical outcome is subject to environmental influence.

'Opening the night for Ulrich Schnauss was Inwards, a local Brighton musician that has seen his own work expand through the ambient, electronic constraints. It was fantastic to see a local talent, so worthy of his position on a bill that was so fitting for his style with his euphoric twist on Methodrone-era Brian Jonestown Massacre. His own name is becoming quite the household title in many minds down here having earned himself the deserved title as Brighton’s young Aphex Twin.' Brighton's Finest

IRIE PIXEL will join Inwards for a visual trip

Eva Bowan

Eva Bowan is a Polish born UK based multidisciplinary artist working in the fields of Music, Graphic Design, Photography, Video and Illustration.

Her interest lies in combining analogue and digital techniques, both in visual and sonic art, leading to exciting fusions of organic textures with electronic elements and glitch. She creates captivating surreal worlds which are a mixture of dreams, hidden fantasies, observing the nature and overanalysing the world around and within.

Her sound can be described as a unique combination of electronica, ambient and industrial pop. She released her debut EP 'Hyperspectacle' on KLDSCP records in 2014 and recently she just released her second EP 'Ringwoodite' via Objects Ltd.

Studio Lower Bar:

CALC // Maydaze // RJP // Paul_S

Four of Brighton's homegrown electronica experimentalists get together to Create an evening of music, performance and discussion.

Blurring the lines between hardware, software, sequencing, synthesis, live jamming and DJ-ing.

Influences ranging from mellow techno, pushing the limits of Chicago footwork, downtempo breaks, and bass from beyond.

The lower bar will be animated throughout the evening from 7.30pm with performance and a chance to chat and get involved.
