Come and face your Waterloo

Thu 13 Mar 2014

Don’t miss this chance to perform on the world-famous Brighton Dome stage and be part of a video installation

On 6th April 1974 ABBA won the Eurovision Song Contest at Brighton Dome with their performance of Waterloo. To celebrate 40 years since their victory on Thu 27 Mar we are offering the rare opportunity to perform on stage at Brighton Dome.

Taking no more than 5 minutes! You will be presented with a set of headphones and asked to react to ABBA’s famous song Waterloo on stage (singing/dancing/costumes encouraged but not essential!).

Whether you are an ABBA fan, interested in performance/video art or just want the opportunity to get on stage, our artwork entitled ‘WATERLOO’ celebrates the local community and Brighton Dome’s heritage, creating an exciting video piece for all to enjoy.

All ages/musical abilities/groups/individuals/personalities welcome!

Filmed by artist Valerie Furnham in the auditorium, the footage taken will create a fantastic celebration of Brighton’s diverse, amazing community and participants will be part of an exciting art exhibition in Brighton Dome’s Founders Room.

The auditorium will be open to participants on Thu 27 Mar 10am-8pm

Participants should report to the Brighton Dome Café-bar (Church Street) any time between 10am-8pm.

For more questions or if you would like to attend please RSVP to [javascript protected email address] and tell us an estimated time of arrival. Or if it’s easier, come in and sign up to the attendance sheet available in the Brighton Dome Café-bar during opening times (Weekdays 10-5pm unless closed for Private Events)

Plus, there will be a special offer on Peyton and Byrne coffee and cake in the Brighton Dome Café-bar all day!

So what are you waiting for? Come and face your Waterloo at Brighton Dome...
