Farmageddon: The True Cost of Cheap Meat
This is Philip Lymbery and Isabel Oakenshott's eye-opening account of the worldwide crisis in mega-farming that threatens our countryside, health and the quality of our food.
We no longer know for certain what is entering the food chain and what we are eating. Join New Writing South for a discussion about the global effects of mega-farming, the impact it has on our own lives and what we can do in support of a more sustainable future.
Their investigation reveals the truth about crisis of antibiotics and resistant superbugs, the destruction of wildlife and the decimation of the bee population, the hoovering of fish from the oceans and the epidemic waste that underpins the mega-farming model. It is both a wake-up call to change our current food production and eating practices and an attempt to find a way to a better farming future.
Author and CEO of Compassion in World Farming, Philip Lymbery, will be discussing this ground-breaking book with Caroline Lucas, Green MP for Brighton Pavilion.
The discussion will be followed by a Q&A session.
