Disobedient Voices: Voice Work Beyond The Norm
A two-hour vocal exploration workshop for disabled and neurodivergent people, centering on the reality that our bodies do not - and should not have to - produce sound in a traditionally taught methodology.
Whether you're an experienced voice user who's found that the old methods from drama school have stopped working for you, an aspiring performer who needs a skills boost, or a complete beginner who's never had access to voice work, this session invites you to reclaim your voice and your power on your terms.
We'll explore how chronic pain and tension, hypermobility, and sensory processing differences like altered proprioception and interoception shape how we access, experience and express our voice.
This isn't a quick fix. Voice work and brain work is slow - and should be. Together, we'll create a space where all voices are validated without apology, correction, or ableist expectations.
Come as you are, and sound as you like.
