The season opens with a programme of majestic Beethoven. The concert begins with the intensely dramatic Overture Leonora No.3 before giving way to the tender beauty of Beethoven’s last piano concerto and closes with the popular and evocative Pastoral Symphony No.6. Jayson Gillham, finalist in the recent Leeds International Piano Competition, is the accomplished soloist for the ‘Emperor’ Piano Concerto.
