Theatre Industry Day

A day packed with talks, introductions, debates and practical sessions to keep writers and other theatre-makers abreast of current issues, broaden understanding of the industry and meet with people they need to help develop their work: literary managers, agents, new writing producers, other playwrights and directors.

The theme is 'playwright power: self-producing, setting up your own company and getting noticed'.

Growing the Artist: Whose responsibility is it to develop the next generation of artists?
Breaking Through: What are the alternative and innovative models to take your play from page to stage?
Industry speed networking: An opportunity to spend 15 minutes with a number of industry professionals and the chance to ask some burning questions.
Springboard from the Fringe: Opening new horizons and where to from here?
The Pursuit of Happiness: Live podcast with Brad Birch and Luke Barnes

We are delighted to welcome guest speakers from Theatre 503, Finborough Theatre, Arts Council England, Tamasha, The Orange Tree Theatre, Menagerie Theatre, Brighton People's Theatre, Papatango and playwrights including: Tim Crouch, Brad Birch, Vinay Patel and Ed Harris.

The day is curated by Karis Halsall – theatre-maker, playwright, actor, performance poet and dramaturg – previously Literary Associate at new writing powerhouses Theatre 503 and The Bush.
