Brighton Youth Centre runs Venue B: a project committed to creating more performance opportunities for Young Bands and Artists at BYC and other Venues.

Local bands get a chance to play a great night, as well as having the chance to be involved in the organisation of events and their own promotion. This gives young performers a chance that can be hard to find: an all ages, self run and not-for-profit event. Every Wednesday (7-9pm) the Events Team meet to organise the gigs. This group is made up of young people that plan, arrange and promote the gigs themselves with support from staff at BYC and other organisations where needed.

In the past year over 120 Young People have performed at gig nights and the events team has grown to over 30 Young People with over 500 Young People attending as audience.

In November BYC and Brighton Dome get together as Young People takeover SPECTRUM for a night to play and promote a show at a full-on professional venue….if you want to be involved in promoting, planning or playing contact [javascript protected email address] for more details.

Brighton Dome project SPECTRUM cultivates and supports the vibrant music scene of Brighton & Hove in partnership with Resident. Our city is brimming with musical talent of all genres and what better way to celebrate that than in our Studio Theatre, offering the perfect platform for acts to be seen and heard.
