Tru Thoughts Recordings 18th Birthday Party

Join us as we celebrate iconic Brighton record label Tru Thoughts turning eighteen in 2017 with a big birthday party, featuring two stages of funk, soul, tropical and electronic music.

Hot 8 Brass Band (live)
Alice Russell (full live band)
Quantic (DJ set)
Werkha & Bryony Jarman-Pinto (live)
Robert Luis, Wrongtom & J-Felix (DJ sets)

The label bring together some of their biggest artists alongside exciting new signings for this special one-off party. From New Orleans, Hot 8 Brass Band return after selling out Brighton Dome during the festival in May, and leading the Children’s Parade; Quantic comes over from New York for one of his world-renowned DJ sets; and Alice Russell, the first lady of Tru Thoughts and a Brighton resident, brings her full band.

Added to this we see new talent in the shape of Werkha (who has toured supporting global star and former Tru Thoughts act Bonobo), and Bryony Jarman-Pinto, whose vocal style incorporates soul, folk and jazz; while label co-owner, A&R, DJ and Unfold Radio show host Robert Luis holds the fort on the decks, alongside Wrongtom (The Ragga Twins, Roots Manuva) and J-Felix (Brighton Patterns resident).

Head over to our blog for an interview with Tru Thoughts co-owner and founder Rob Luis.
