The Great Escape has revealed Lewis Capaldi as the first Spotlight act to play next year’s internationally renowned festival.
The Great Escape is home to some of the world’s best new music showcases, debuting artists and springing them forward on a path of success. The Spotlight shows play host to artists who have grown alongside the festival who are now taking their own international lead across the charts. Lewis Capaldi has been revealed as the first Spotlight show for 2019, taking place at Brighton Dome and presented by The Great Escape and The Box Plus Network.
It’s been a whirlwind year for vocal powerhouse Lewis Capaldi, who performed at The Great Escape as a rising star in May 2018. Following self-released single Bruises which rapidly reached over 90 million streams on Spotify claiming the most-ever plays from an unsigned artist – Capaldi has yet to stop impressing the world, receiving a prestigious nomination for BRIT’s Critic Choice. Clash comment that “he seems able to find the beauty in the everyday, to translate deeply personal experiences into something universal.”
