Disabled + Disobedient - Artist Development Lab
Brighton Dome is looking for local deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent artists to join us and take part in our new Disabled + Disobedient: Artist Development Lab
We are looking for up to 5 local* deaf, disabled and/or neurodivergent artists from any performing arts discipline to take part in our Artist Development Lab programme, which will:
- Take place on Monday 23 & Tuesday 24 February 2026, from 12–5.30pm daily
- Be located at Brighton Dome, in the Studio Theatre and Gallery Bar
- Involve 4 workshops based on the following topics: movement, voice, taking an artistic idea into development, and building relationships with venues and presenters
- Include one informal networking session with other local organisations
- Include tickets to a show in the Studio Theatre on Wednesday 25 February, evening (optional, but recommended)
We are pleased to offer this artist development opportunity for free to artists thanks to Brighton Dome subsidy.
We will provide lunch and refreshments on 23 & 24 February (inclusive of dietary requirements). All participants will receive a £20 bursary towards their costs.
*Our priority is providing opportunities for deaf, disabled and neurodivergent artists from Brighton & Hove and Sussex. For this particular opportunity, artists will need to confirm that they are based in a BN postcode.
