Celebrating Volunteers Week

'I set foot on Brighton soil, knowing only 1 person, and had six months to discover myself, a new city and a new life. So what does one do when they want to make an impact and meet awesome people along the way?  Volunteer!​

​The immense support from the group of volunteers is a feeling that I hope everyone gets to experience - it made me feel valued and seen like never before. The One Minute App Project was particularly special because all content was created by members of the volunteer group from various backgrounds and demographics. I chose to volunteer as a way to meet new like-minded people and ended up staying to build a life, so you never know what possibilities volunteering can bring!'​

‘It can be difficult to become part of an established volunteer team but the team at the Brighton Dome – both volunteers and employees – have made every effort to make me feel welcome and integral to the ‘mission’. ​

I find Brighton Dome to be a fascinating place, given its place in the city’s history - indeed I enjoyed volunteering so much at Brighton Dome, I now have a job there!​’
