Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival welcome volunteer…
‘It has made me more positive and hopeful about my future’ – Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival volunteer
Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival welcome volunteer involvement across our events, heritage, and other programmes. We offer a rewarding and engaging programme that offers people of all backgrounds the opportunity to connect with each other, their community, and the arts.
Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival volunteers can choose the events that interest them – for instance, building on a specific interest in community events, dance, or classical music. They can also choose to join on a seasonal basis only if they wish.
Volunteers work alongside our experienced and passionate Front of House team. Their contribution is invaluable. Like at many other arts charities, volunteers from our community play a key role at Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival. The effort and generosity of volunteers helps to ensure that we can continue to stage new artistic commissions, support emerging and established artists, and develop innovative and inclusive new work.
Among the many individual benefits volunteering can have, is a positive impact on people’s mental health and wellbeing. It’s a way of engaging with the community, rebuilding confidence, and growing an interest in the arts. It can also be a less pressurised environment in which to try something new, allowing participants to gain valuable experience and improve prospects for employment.
As one of the founders of volunteering platform Good Space, we want to inspire everyone to volunteer, particularly those for whom participation has often been a barrier. By volunteering with Brighton Dome, you become part of a larger network of Sussex Arts and Culture volunteers, where there will be occasional opportunities to meet and to exchange experiences, at other exciting venues.
Our volunteer opportunities are supported by Good Space, funded through Arts Council England and UK Government funding.
