Keeping it in the family - behind-the-scenes of Timber!
Get to know Cirque Alfonse
The family that plays together, chops wood together and performs death-defying feats together... stays together.
Family performers Cirque Alfonse head to Brighton Dome this January. Including phenomenal feats of agility and strength, Timber! stars the whole family from 66-year-old grandad Alain to two-year-old grandson Arthur.
Founded in 2005, members of Cirque Alfonse have worked with some of the world's most renowned companies including Cirque du Soleil, Cirkus Cirkor and Les 7 Doigts de la Main.
Timber! is a high energy, family treat, that blends circus with theatre, dance, live traditional music and the folklore of Cirque Alfonse’s native Quebec.
Their shtick - or should that be stick - is a joyous, log-balancing, wood-chucking, axe-juggling spectacular crammed full of lumberjacks, in a performance that is clearly off the beaten track. The most incredible death defying stunts are performed to a variety of musical styles, from hauntingly evocative chanson, to tub-thumping banjo-busting rounds and a dose of call-and-response!
