The Brighton-based band, Barnacles, experienced Brighton Dome after hours to film a video for their track Power Up.
This is the latest video in the SPECTRUM Site and Sound series which invites local musicians and film makers to explore our Grade I listed venues. Brighton Dome project SPECTRUM cultivates and supports the vibrant music scene of Brighton & Hove in partnership with Resident.
The one-shot video begins with Leroy Horns on saxophone in the Brighton Dome entrance, before the camera follows him through to the Corn Exchange where he joins the rest of the band to perform the groove-laden piece, a version of which features on the band’s forthcoming album.
Barnacles is a horn heavy, groove based quintet combining the energy and intensity of dance music with the spontaneity and freedom of a live group. The band are: Leroy Horns (tenor sax/composer), Richard Halligan (tenor sax), Peter Hill (drums), Laura Impalomeni (trombone), Greg Sinclair (baritone sax).
