Hip hop - but not as you might expect

This March, Botis Seva’s fearless and original Hip Hop collective Far From The Norm premiere their powerful new piece challenging our perception of dance, Until We Sleep.

With a team of dancers at the very top of their game, get ready for striking costumes, piercing lighting design and a soundscape of percussion, guttural sounds and soul-touching music; the perfect backdrop for Botis Seva’s unmistakable choreography.

A local anniversary, an exclusive premiere

We’re delighted to be a part of the 30th anniversary celebrations for Charlotte Vincent’s Brighton-based Vincent Dance Theatre! Renowned for creating exceptional and socially engaged stage and film work, the company mark their anniversary with a brand-new production, PLAY, premiering with us on 14 Mar.

Made and performed by four local young people and Vincent Dance Theatre collaborator Aurora Lubos, PLAY digs into the upheaval of the past few years, and celebrates young people's incredible resilience during the huge personal and global changes they face.

Woven with Charlotte’s trademark dark humour, come along and celebrate Brighton’s immense local talent.

A UK debut for Brazilian fire

From 27-28 February, trailblazers of the South American contemporary dance scene, São Paulo Dance Company visit Brighton for the very first time on their UK and Ireland debut tour.

Artistic Director Inês Bogéa, dancer, filmmaker and writer, has three outstanding and world-renowned international choreographers on board for the triple-bill performance, including Cassi Abranches, fresh from working with Birmingham Royal Ballet on Black Sabbath – The Ballet.

Each distinct piece showcases the individual flair of the 22-strong dance ensemble and choreographers, combined with the simmering style of Brazilian dance.
