Name a seat
Take your seat alongside the greatest performers
Honour the memory of someone special, share your love of theatre, dance and music or surprise a loved one with a unique birthday or anniversary present. In appreciation of your gift, your name – or a nominated name – will be inscribed on a seat plaque
The Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre have undergone major restoration and refurbishment, including brand-new seating and we are offering the chance to name a seat in these two venues. For those who have more affinity with the Concert Hall we have now opened up the scheme for this venue.
By supporting in this way, you will be helping to welcome new audiences and new artists for years to come.
Seats are available at £400 in all venues.
'Naming a seat in the Corn Exchange is, for us, a unique way to celebrate both the fantastic performances we’ve enjoyed here together as well as this phenomenal venue, which is so important to the city.’ -

Seat Appeal FAQs
Your Support
What will my donation support?
As a charity, we are inviting our supporters, audiences and visitors to help us as we fundraise to ensure the sustainability of the organisation, to offer first class artistic and community programme and to preserve the extraordinary buildings.
We would be delighted if you chose to name a seat for yourself, a friend or loved one or on behalf of your business. Your support really will make a difference.
How can I name a seat?
You can pay for your seat by BACS, cheque or debit/credit card, or a direct debit option is available over 12 months.
Gift Aid – you can increase your donation with gift aid. If you are a UK tax payer, we can claim an extra 25p for every £1 at no cost to you. If you are eligible, we would be grateful if you could tick the Gift Aid section on the form.
Your Seat
Where will the plaque be positioned on the seat?
Plaques will be positioned on the back of seats.
How long will the plaque remain on the seat?
All inscriptions will remain on the seats for 10 years.
Can I choose my actual seat?
You can choose whether your seat will be in the Corn Exchange, Studio Theatre or Concert Hall.
Will I always be able to sit in my dedicated seat?
We can’t guarantee you’ll be able to sit in your dedicated seat. However, if you book for a performance well in advance and advise the box office, it may be possible. As our venues are flexible spaces, dependant on the art-form, not all seats will be visible at every event.
Your Plaque
What is the plaque size and how can I confirm my dedication?
The plaque size allows 22 characters per line (44 characters in total across two lines), including spaces. We will contact donors when dedications are scheduled to be collected.
If I don’t want to list an individual name, can I request something else?
Yes, if it is within the character limit, but there are some exclusions. These include logos, quotes, symbols and any dedication political in nature or liable to cause offence, therefore Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival reserves the right to request an alternative dedication.
When will the plaques be fitted?
We are currently installing plaques in batches, twice yearly, so will depend on when the donation is received.
What is your data protection policy?
We need your permission for you to be contacted by Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival in the future. By leaving your details you are agreeing to be contacted for the purposes of the seat appeal. Your details will be stored in accordance with the Data Protection Act (1988) and will not be passed on to a third party.
