Heritage Open Day

Thu 4 Aug 2016

We’ll be celebrating the rich heritage of our Grade I and II listed buildings as we fling open our doors for our fourth annual Heritage Open Day of free family entertainment.

Take a behind-the-scenes tour of Brighton Dome (and get a glimpse of the famed underground tunnel running beneath the Royal Pavilion Estate); hear fascinating lectures by Dr Sue Berry and Dr Alexandra Loske about the history of the Estate and the development of the town; and enjoy a charming magic lantern show with Jeremy Brooker who revives an attraction that would have been a common feature of Victorian Brighton.

As we prepare for their refurbishment, we’ll be collecting memories of the Corn Exchange and Studio Theatre (formerly the Pavilion Theatre). Do you have a story to share? We'd love to hear from you.

All this, plus live music in Café-bar and heritage craft activities for our youngest visitors.
