Actress, Singer, Suffragette
with Louise Peskett
Fri 8 Mar 2024
Brighton Dome is a pivotal place in our local women’s history, the scene of some of the most courageous and daring acts of protest by the suffragettes.
This talk will look at the contribution to the votes for women cause by actors, performers and theatre professionals who joined the Actresses Franchise League and other organisations, in particular local women such as the Brighton-born sisters Eva and Decima Moore and American actress Elizabeth Robins who fell in love with rural Sussex and lived in Brighton in later life.
