Sid Lester’s Christmas Special

Fri 2 Aug 2013

Old time vaudevillian and tap dancer Sid Lester helped make Variety great; now he wants one last shot. With the help of his aspirational daughter Valerie, he conjures up an evening of festive fun for all the family. Renowned Brighton theatre maker Sue MacLaine pulls the strings alongside the delightful Emma Kilby putting Sid back where he belongs, top of the bill, name in lights, conductor and constructor of his own showbiz universe.

Expect stylish dancing from Helen Rogers and Janine Fletcher, song and dance supremo Liz Aggiss, and Greg Mickelborough on the piano, along with proffered toffees, talking birds, 'name that tune' balloons, crackers, a Christmas grotto, carols, brass bands, ventriloquism, nifty footwork, paper chains and enough old school patter to warm the cockles of even the most Scrooge-like old codgers out there.
