Bring Your Own Beamer

Thu 4 Aug 2016

Check out this blog for profiles of some of the artists to be featured this year.

Find a space, invite artists, ask them to bring a projector. The idea is simple but the result is a creative free-for-all of light and colour.

Collaborative moving image, projection, participation and experimentation; Bring Your Own Beamer is turning 5 this year and we're making it even bigger.

Pop-up Brighton’s night of experimentation and collaboration returns once again for Brighton Digital Festival at the Corn Exchange offering the audience a chance to enter a world of projection. With curated projection based installations, a short film cinema, an area where people can turn up and project and new for this year digital workshops.

BYOB's home has been in one of the biggest venues in Brighton; Brighton Dome, Corn Exchange for the past 3 years. To make it even bigger we are running the event over 2 days this year. The evening will function like normal with the 3 different areas of projection art and moving image. During Saturday day time we have digital based workshops for all ages to get involved in.

Yoga in a digital forest

Come and relax in a light and sound installation from artist Thomas Buckley. He makes nature based installations using different projection methods and ambient sound recordings. Alex Murphy will be holding two yoga sessions in the digital forest room for a yoga experience like no other.
