Dark Side of the Moon
with Phil Morgan
Thu 12 Dec 2024
The Dark Side of the Moon by Pink Floyd premiered at Brighton Dome on 20 Jan 1972 and went on to become the fourth best-selling physical album of all time.
Philip Morgan does a dive into the sixties and seventies to try and answer why an album focused on death, insanity, poverty, and war should have achieved reported sales of 45 million.
Was it because it was an inevitable response to the optimism of the early sixties, or did it foreshadow what was to come?
