Coffee Concerts

As plans get underway for the refurbishment of the Corn Exchange, our popular series of Sunday morning chamber concerts  has taken up temporary residence at the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts (ACCA) at University of Sussex in Falmer.

Heath Quartet

'The group plays with a winsome blend of impetuosity and discipline ... they are well-nigh impeccable' Washington Post

Haydn String Quartet in F sharp minor, Op.50 No.4
Tippett String Quartet No.5
Dvorák String Quartet No.13, Op.106

Oliver Heath violin
Cerys Jones violin
Gary Pomeroy viola
Christopher Murray cello

The much-loved Heath Quartet take to the Concert Hall stage to open our series with Tippett’s String Quartet No.5, which they have championed over recent years for its vibrant, spontaneous all-too-often neglected injection of energy to the string quartet repertoire.

An annual feature in our series, Heath Quartet’s international reputation grows and grows, with this recital preceding their US tour.
