Brighton Dome hosts free fundraising advice session

Fundraising on a shoestring: How to raise funds on limited resources

Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival is to collaborate with Sussex-based accountancy firm Richard Place Dobson to host a special event about raising funds with restricted resources on Thursday 20 June.

Fundraising on a shoestring: How to raise funds on limited resources will explore the main strands of fundraising and the current challenges that not-for-profit organisations face. Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival’s Director of Development Barbara Macpherson, and the Trusts and Foundations Associate Carla Pannett will draw on their collective experiences of working at internationally renowned organisations (San Francisco Opera, London Business School, Royal National Theatre and Tate Modern) to lead the presentation and advice session - providing tips on how to survive and even prosper in the current economic climate.

They’ll be joined by Darren Harding from Sussex based accountants Richard Place Dobson who will be providing an update on recent changes to Gift Aid. The evening also includes a Q&A session with the experienced team of fundraisers and financial professionals.

If you are a representative of a not-for-profit organisation and would like to attend please RSVP to Dona Crisfield on [javascript protected email address] by Monday 17 June at 12pm. The session runs from 6pm - 8pm in Brighton Dome Café-bar.

Due to limited capacity, a maximum of two attendees per organization are permitted. However extra staff will be added to a reserve list should extra spaces become available.
