New for 2025, we have worked directly with some of the UK’s most exciting independent record labels on Record Label Nights, a series of gigs featuring a lineup of artists spanning genres of jazz, folk, hip hop and indie:
With a secret headliner to be announced, Brighton’s Bella Union host genre-bending progressive rock group Plantoid and the soaring melodies of Our Girl in the Studio Theatre, 13 Feb. On 14 Feb, join American multi-instrumentalist BC Camplight, up-and-coming indie duo deary and alternative queer group LuxJury in the Studio Theatre for another night of unmissable music.
Together We Stand! fills the Corn Exchange on 28 Feb with sensational new jazz from collaborating labels New Soil, Bridge the Gap, Jazz Re:Freshed and Women in Jazz. The lineup includes Mercury Prize shortlisted corto.alto, Scotland’s world-class Rebecca Vasmant Ensemble and generation-spanning 16-piece Balimaya Project - more to be announced.
Enjoy Manchester’s Gondwana Records night for the euphoric sounds of saxophonist and composer Jasmine Myra, multi-award-winning electronic duo Svanesborg Kardyb, Portico Quartet’s Jack Wyllie and DJ and producer of Gondwana Records, Mari*, performing a set of her dreamy and ambient music.
And shimmy and shake with New Orleans’ Hot 8 Brass Band and their trademark funk, rap and hip hop-infused music as they return to the Concert Hall on 28 Mar. Supported by Brighton label Tru Thoughts.
An electrifying one-off
On 29 Mar in the Corn Exchange, the acclaimed Sebastian Mullaert is joined by electronic music trailblazers Clark and Rival Consoles where they simultaneously perform live for 2.5 hours at Circle of Live; an immersive, one-off, unique experience performed in the round. Audiences can drop in/ out throughout the performance.
Iconic album, iconic artists
Rediscover the late David Crosby’s legendary music at If I Could Only Remember My Name: The Music of David Crosby. Originally recorded with the likes of Joni Mitchell and Neil Young, hear the cult-classic psychedelic album performed in full by The Staves, BC Camplight, Kris Drever (Lau) and Liam Ó Maonlaí (Hothouse Flowers), 2 Feb in the Concert Hall.
All that jazz
We launch our inaugural event series, Jazz Connections – celebrating the best emerging talent in the UK’s vibrant jazz scene debuting with award-winning ensemble, Fergus McCreadie Trio. Join them on 4 April in the Studio Theatre.
A Cuban celebration
In the Studio Theatre on 5 Apr, What’s in the Salsa? spotlights Afro Cuban culture with energising music, dance and conversations with artists from Cuba, Nigeria, the US and the UK.
