Multiple award-winning cult performance artist, Louise Orwin, brings her smash hit theatrical experience about life, death, the future of art and the almighty attention economy back on tour
FAMEHUNGRY is a helter-skelter nosedive through the TikTok universe, asking what it means to be an artist now. Fusing performance art and very real and very live TikTok Experiences, Louise Orwin embarks on a sisyphean mission to make art and find beauty and hope in the relentless, Almighty Algorithm-feeding attention economy.
To do this, Louise enlists famous Gen Z TikToker Jax Valentine (23yo, 80k followers) to guide her (39yo, 5k followers) through a brave new world of dance trends, 24 hour live-streaming, enforced face filters and endless monetizable content. The aim? To answer a very person question: how can this performance artist compete in a dizzying digital age?
FAMEHUNGRY is a wild ride through the TikTok universe for two simultaneous audiences - a theatre audience, and an unsuspecting TikTok audience - that questions the lengths we go to be seen and find fame. Loud, fast, unpredictable, funny and occasionally messy, and unlike anything you’ve seen before, this is theatre redefined for the brat generation (sort of).
