INKYRA is a dazzling new project from Emma Rawicz - saxophonist, composer, bandleader - an artist who has taken the jazz world by storm since her 2022 debut!

"A name on everyone's lips right now" (Julian Joseph, BBC Radio 3)

With hard-hitting grooves and infectious melodies, INKYRA draws on influences from singer-songwriter, fusion, and rock music to create something fresh and entirely new. The project brings together six of the UK's finest jazz musicians: Emma Rawicz, Gareth Lockrane, David Preston, Scottie Thompson, Kevin Glasgow and Jamie Murray.

Emma Rawicz INKYRA is the third concert for Jazz Connections - a new slot at the Studio Theatre showcasing leading artists and new voices from the UK’s vibrant jazz scene

Squint

Fresh from their breakout performance at this year's Love Supreme festival, Squint is an up-and-coming jazz quintet from Manchester and London. Their music draws on the forms and harmony of the post-bop era and the grooves of funk, hip-hop and electronic dance music.

Squint is a Manchester-based jazz quintet that fuses intricate composition with improvisation. Their music is influenced by the forms and harmony of the Post-Bop era along with the grooves of Funk, Hip-Hop and electronic dance music. Squint's gigs have an electric atmosphere, created by the interaction between the band members, with no two performances being the same. They have performed to a 300 person audience as part of ‘Jazz for Ukraine’, as well in several Manchester venues: The Yard, The Rat & Pigeon and Fuel Cafe Bar.
