Black Slate
Fri 2 Aug 2013
After the huge success of last year’s Rum ‘n’ Bass, Brighton and Hove Black History Month returns with another reggae, rice and peas party featuring 1970s pioneers Black Slate. Like Aswad and Steel Pulse, Black Slate proved that homegrown British reggae was a reality with its own sound and concerns, releasing seven albums and the 1980 UK Top Ten single, Amigo.
Support comes from DJs Roots Garden & King Tafari Love, while chefs from Cummin Up once again provide the Caribbean kitchen.
