NYC's Sharon Van Etten returns to Brighton; a singer-songwriter with exceptional intimacy, sublime generosity and immense breadth.

Melting Vinyl are very pleased to welcome Sharon Van Etten to Brighton!

New York City's singer-songwriter, Sharon Van Etten, is an artist with a hunger to turn another corner and to delve deeper, writing from a place of honesty and vulnerability creating a bond with the listener that few contemporary musicians can match. Compelled by a restless spirit, Van Etten is continuously challenging herself.

Etten's latest album Are We There (out now via Jagjaguwar) is her first self-produced one, and comes after the success of her previous album Tramp (produced by The National's Aaron Dessner). It is an album of exceptional intimacy, sublime generosity and immense breadth. Etten explores areas of new awareness; writing, producing and performing from a place that seems almost mythical yet so touchable and real. She sings and explores the nature of desire, memory, of being lost, emptiness, promises, loyalty, fear and change; of healing, the true self, violence and silence.

The simple, dark balladry of Etten's sound, brings to mind Nick Cave. The dark and the beautiful, all grounded with a passion to express the soul. Don't miss out on what's sure to be an enchanting performance.
