Six-time Grammy winner Dr John is known the world over as the embodiment of New Orleans’ musical legacy. His colourful career began in the 1950s performing with some of the Crescent City’s greatest acts. By the 1960s, he was a sought-after session musician, playing on records by Van Morrison, Aretha Franklin and The Rolling Stones, before establishing a solo career with his unique blend of voodoo mysticism, rhythm and blues and psychedelic rock. His latest album is astar-studded salute to another New Orleans legend, Louis Armstrong. Don’t miss this infectious live performer and true American icon.
