News

Brighton Dome brings more entertainment into homes this spring, including a classical concert livestreamed from the Concert Hall and online talks from renowned authors and personalities including a free event with Nobel Prize winner Malala Yousafzai.

On Sunday 14 March, the multi-faceted and exuberant Principal string players of Brighton Philharmonic Orchestra join forces with their Music Director Joanna MacGregor CBE, one of the world’s most innovative musicians, for a gloriously romantic programme. Appearing live from Brighton Dome’s Concert Hall, the performance will feature a piano quartet from Schumann, complimented by the immense scale and drama of a passionate Brahms piano quintet. Tickets are priced at just £5.

Throughout March and into April, Brighton Dome’s partnership with Fane Online continues to offer a series of livestreams in the company of personalities and authors to watch from the comfort of home.

On Tuesday 16 March, to mark the paperback publication of her powerful and emotional New York Times bestseller, We Are Displaced, the human rights activist Malala Yousafzai will be in conversation with special guests to tell the personal stories behind the statistics of the millions of people displaced worldwide. This exclusive event is free to view with an option to buy the book for just £10.

Social commentator, Fran Lebowitz is in conversation to mark the Netflix release of her new documentary Pretend It’s a City, with her invariably cutting take on anything and everything. Musician Tracey Thorn offers an insight into the highs and lows of being a woman in the male-dominated music industry and to mark the publication of new editions of five of his novels, author Neil Gaiman shares fascinating tales from his prolific career.

Tickets start from £8, with the option to purchase books at a special discount. Talks are filmed at the highest quality with speakers appearing in different locations, in an intimate at-home experience that can be viewed again for up to seven days.
