This week (1-7 June) is Volunteers’ Week: the perfect time to thank all of our wonderful volunteers for everything they do for Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival. We have an amazing team of over 150 volunteers across our Front of House and Heritage teams, helping us to welcome audiences into our event spaces and share our venue’s history. We are so grateful to everyone who offers their time and enthusiasm to help support the work that we do!

What our staff and audiences say:

I am so grateful to our volunteers for their time, commitment and enthusiasm. You are are a vital part of Brighton Dome, and have been a key asset in making this landmark 60th Brighton Festival happen. Thank you!— Lucy Davies, CEO Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival

All of our volunteers are exceptional, especially at the outdoor events (in all weathers!). They are warm, welcoming, helpful and inclusive. An absolute pleasure to work with.— Helen Almond, Event Manager

I took my friend who has a disability to a show, and the staff could not do enough for us. From start to finish it was fantastic. Thank you!— Audience member

Thank you so much for the care and commitment you bring to your roles. Whether it’s been in the Festival or at Brighton Dome, a big show or small, you have all made Brighton Dome and Festival a friendly and happy place to be. It is so appreciated.— Sally Hunt, Event Manager

What do our volunteers do?

Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival works with volunteers across our events, heritage, and festival activities. Volunteers can choose to sign up for the events that interest them, such as dance, theatre, contemporary and classical music, or community events.

While volunteering at Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival, I've seen some fabulous events I wouldn't normally have gone to. I've tried to experience different things. There’s such a feel-good factor!— Lucy, Front of House volunteer

Alongside helping to support the arts, being part of our team of volunteers is also a great way to meet new people and make connections.

The best thing has been how welcoming everybody is. Each and every time, the staff and other volunteers have been super friendly.— Brighton Dome & Festival volunteer

I have met lots of new people and learned lots. It’s wonderful how audiences are so appreciative. It’s been great to see how much joy the events bring to all age groups.— Jac, Front of House volunteer
