What’s on at Brighton Dome: Mon 16 Nov - Sun 22 Nov

We’ve a host of cracking events for you this week, including ChVrches, Alan Carr, Disco Pigs, Matthew Herbert, SPECTRUM and more…

After making waves with their debut album The Bones of What You Believe Brit nominees Chvrches stop off at Brighton Dome on Monday, touring with their latest album Every Open Eye.

Showcasing critically acclaimed and innovative projects, The Sound of Story  (Tue 17 Nov) is aimed at filmmakers, sound practitioners, music producers and film lovers. Through a series of talks and workshops, leading sound and film professionals will discuss their work, influences and insights, offering a rare opportunity to learn about the power of the soundtrack, and the importance of designing projects with sound in mind from the start.

Pig & Runt are soulmates. Partners in crime, they share an appetite for drunkenness, recklessness, adventure & destruction… But as they go for their 17th birthday binge, reality violently collides with their fantasy and their world begins to crumble. See Disco Pigs here on Wed 18 Nov.

‘Disco Pigs retains its thrilling vigour and jabbering energy in this revival, directed by Cathal Cleary’ The GuardianSee HERBERT (Live) on Thu 19 Nov. For this show Matthew revisits his Herbert incarnation from the mid-nineties and goes back to the roots of house music in all of its forms - from the deep, intimate end, to the jump around end. His line-up has its beginnings in a club set with a variety of singers, but he has also been known to introduce a super-tight horn section or even a live orchestra into the musical mix.

Award winning comedian, author and chat show supremo Alan Carr returns to his stand up roots with his hilarious take on life. Pick up some unique and hand-made Christmas gifts (or treat yourself...) at MADE, with over 100 exceptional contemporary designer makers there’s plenty to choose from.

This November we're lucky to have two incredible SPECTRUM editions in a row. First up is the all-female SPECTRUM on Fri 20 Nov, headlined by award-winning Olivia Louvel and showcasing Bunty, Dog in the Snow, Lu’Ami and Blumenkind, this special focuses on women in the electronic music scene.

Join us for free festivities at our Christmas Open Day on Sat 21 Nov. Find out more about what’s on this Christmas, enjoy live music, festive tasters from the wonderful Riverford Organics, crafts and a rather special yuletide photo opportunity.

The future is very bright and quite loud too...
Expect raw energy, humour, political savvy & huge talent from Brighton Youth Centre (BYC)'s Venue B as they take over this second special edition of SPECTRUM
